A very nice book, if a bit dated. I bought it a year or so ago in a discount book shop. Some great pictures.

I'm half way through it and certainly the 'illustared' part of the title is obvious. A fair read but given so many good books have been printed since it doesn't stand out so far as being particulary recommendable. The style of writing is meandering which is nice to see personal style replacing a more formal notation.

I think it originally came out at a very high price - £35 maybe because of the cost of all the phgotography but your right Aiden it has been discounted to less than a tenner. Its quite a good read too.
