Got a copy today (for £10.95) from Royal Mile Whiskies in London. Quickly thumbed through it on the train home. Some interesting looking articles. The factual info. on each distillery's newer expressions and the photos of bottlings have all been revised. There's even a photo of "PC5".

This is as indispensable as the 2006 edition. A lot of the distillery info is repeated (appropriately: distillery histories haven't changed) but the articles are never less than interesting and the information on new and limited bottlings is superb. The section on online whisky shops is brilliant (Mainly Malts in Bawtry, England rocks!) I have read it twice already.

I love this book (I've the 2006 and 2007 editions). I'd like short generic tasting notes on each distillery, but this is a minor gripe as there are plenty available elsewhere.

Actually this is precisely my sentiment too. Would make it even more perfect.

I rather dosily picked up the 2006 edition the other day. Great book though, excellent history/distillery sections. I like the fact that they included a picture of each distillery, it's good to be able to see where the stuff is coming from.

If you combined the distillery page from this with the generic house style note from the whisky companion, and up to date tasing notes from the whisky bible and organised it in the tour of scotland format of Jackson's "Whisky" you'd have the perfect whisky book.
