I found an early edition of this years ago and only got round to it recently. Didn't expect much from it, partly due to the low esteem extended to it by the author of a book on the true facts of the SS Politician event. However I was pleased to find myself smiling and tittering on the bus thanks to the authors talents at comic writing. Otherwise the first novel I've read in years. I totally forgot how absorbing the world authors invent can be.
Just re-read an old thread on the SMWS edition of this book and was reminded I have a copy of the Dewars edition. We sold it in the shop and took years to shift them.
(You probably don't want to hear that Ian.)
