North British Distillery Centenary 1885 - 1985

Re-read this in preperation for a visit to the distillery and found it to be a well written unsentimental look at the distillery. I don't know if it was commissioned by the company, a consortium of whisky companies, as gifts but I don't believe it was ever sold. Edinburgh's second hand bookshop is probably the most likely place to find it. There was another earlier publication and perhaps even a third, I'm sure Ian Buxton will let us know. As far as I know grain whisky documentation is thin on the ground although a recent book/booklet on Cambus entitled not a headache in a agallon 200 years of distilling (or something very similar) seemes to have sold out its initial print run .any advice about tracking a copy down would be most appreciated.

Yes, there are 3 North British books, all commissioned by the company. The 1985 (by Leslie Gardiner) is the most recent (a little bird tells me they still have some at the distillery!); then there was one in 1960 and a very nice and rare one from 1935 - all anniversaries of the distillery.
The 1935 one has lovely illustrations which makes it very special for that period and of grain distilling. It's hard to find and expensive (often over £100).
Last time I looked the NB website had PDF scans of these books available.

I was at Whisky Fringe. It was very lively.
