Hi all
Got my copy of 'Dafydd & Goliath', by Dafydd Gittins. He's the guy behind the Brecon-based Welsh Whisky Co. which herb-filtered Scotch and sold it on as Welsh Whisky. The book is his autobiography and the rise and fall of his whisky business is a good part of it.
Gittins must be among the more 'colourful' figures who entered the business recently. He had a host of different jobs before embarking on the whisky business and ran a nightclub after. He ended up in jail because of alleged drug dealing in his nightclub, a charge which he vehemently denies (hence the book).
I don't feel I can really recommend the book to everyone, because it is not particularly well written. It does offer probably the most detailed account of the Brecon-based Welsh whisky company, although not from an unbiased viewpoint of course. A book for those of you who really want (almost) everything written about whisky in their library.
Cheers, Lex
