Just a question

Postby Rob Allanson » Mon Jan 05, 2009 2:20 pm

Dear All,

This year I want to start putting more up to date news on here but I was just wondering what format you all fancied.

I can just post what I get, ie in press release format - allowing everyone to comment, or I can cut and rewrite...

let me know please.

How about just posting what you get, and then have 'Robs Comment' under it where you can write a few words about it.

:thumbsup:

Yeah just keep it simple.

My favourite for news for me is lfw news section, although it is purely on releases it is easy and i check it daily.

So if you could include industry/distillery news and new releases i'm sure it will be fine.

I agree with Matt, paste and maybe a comment would be a good way to go.

I think that would be a great format. Good call. It would be nice to read a couple of different viewpoints on a subject.

I think Matt nailed it right there. The original release and then the WM view.

It would be useful if there was something, even just a line, separating your input from the official release though.

Thats what I have been trying to do. If you have a look at what I have been posting so far - i comment first and then comes the press release.

hope that suits.....

Yes I saw it Rob. What I meant was that in the Balvenie post, for example, it wasn't that obvious to the sleepy and the stupid (i.e. me) where your input stopped and the release began:

[quote="Rob Allanson"]Hello all,

This dropped in this morning. Sounds like it could be interesting. There has been some good stuff coming out of Balvenie at the moment. As you can see it is a rum finish. The 14 Years Old rum wood that came out a while back score pretty well in the tastings (WM61) and picked up and Editor's Choice medal.

From February travellers will be able to pick up a distinctive new non chill-filtered expression of The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky, exclusively available in travel retail.

.....

I think if you had inserted a visible break, e.g.

--------

or a signature, then I wouldn't have had to think about it (which is best avoided in my case).

Just pedantry really, I'm sure I'll cope and I certainly want you to keep up the news postings so feel free to ignore me.

Cheers
