Broom honoured

Whisky Magazine's contributing editor Dave Broom has scooped a national award for his excellent musings on spirits.
Dave unanimously took the title of Spirits Personality of the Year in Harpers Wine and Spirit magazine's Drinking Out Excellence awards 2009.
The judges said: "It's his unstinting advocacy and support for quality producers and the people who sell their products in bars all over the world that has won Broom the respect of the on-trade."

There's something a bit ethereal about being "Spirits Personality of the Year" ... makes me think of a bunch of interesting ghosts vying for the title :-)

Aye. Not only that, but I believe the competition was brushed aside too.

He does a good job really judging whisky on its merits, not just on personal pref. if you look at his reviews on this site.
