United Spirits Limited has indicated that it is considering selling off interests in Glasgow-based distiller Whyte and Mackay.
Rumours have been circulating that Indian business giant Dr Vijay Mallya is to sell off the Scotch whisky group less than two years after paying £595m for the distiller.
A spokesperson for USL in Bangalore said: "The sale of a minority interest in Whyte and Mackay is an option that we may consider at the appropriate time."
