Stella move for Grants

Global spirits business and independent family distillers William Grant & Sons Ltd has today announced that its chief executive Roland van Bommel has decided to step down after almost five years in the role.

Roland van Bommel has built a stronger and broader executive team and implemented significant improvements across the business which continues to strive to become more brand and marketing driven.

Following van Bommel's decision, late last year, the company has been searching for his replacement and announced that Stella David will join as its new chief executive on 10 August 2009.

Stella David joins William Grant & Sons from the Bacardi Group where, for the past four years, she has held the position of global chief marketing officer.
During her tenure with Bacardi, Stella has held a number of key appointments within the group including vice president global operations, managing director asia pacific and chief executive officer of its UK and Dutch businesses.
