It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Philip Scatchard, after a short illness bravely borne. Philip joined IDV as a sales manager for the North West, following a career in the wine trade with his father's company, David Scatchard Wines.
He went on to hold a number of senior National Account positions, including a stint for Percy Fox, handling the distribution of the emerging brand Bombay Sapphire.
However, it is his pioneering work for the International Federation of Spirits Producers UK over the last 12 years, that he will be best remembered for. As co-founder and managing director of the IFSP UK, he had an enormous impact in reducing the incidence of substitution or "tipping" of spirit brands, therefore helping maintain the integrity of the trade.
