The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has opened it’s third members room, after painstakingly restoring a beautiful Georgian townhouse. The new property is in Queen Street, in the heart of Edinburgh’s city centre.
The elegant building, with original features and views across the Firth of Forth, joins The Vaults in Leith and the London Members Room in offering Society members a unique venue to relax and enjoy a dram.
28 Queen Street also houses the Society’s first restaurant where you can enjoy dinner. There are rooms for private functions and after a few whiskies you can retire to the top floor for an overnight stay in one of the two beautiful apartments.
To celebrate the opening of the new venue, the SMWS has selected a cask under the name of ‘a class act’. It has been released as a special 13 year old bottling. There are just under 650 bottles available to members at £49. Each features a label showing a design of the building.
