Small Highland distillery Tullibardine has launched its 1993 vintage, the first new expression from the distillery since it was bought by a consortium of four businessmen last year.
The taste is described as smooth and mellow with a clean fruity flavour and a nice-crisp finish. The nose is delicate and has a fresh floral scent with hints of vanilla and chocolate orange.
“We are a small distillery but have inherited a legacy of some fine old whiskies,” remarked director Michael Beamish. “We intend to create a family of expressions of Tullibardine and will be carefully selecting vintages and special individual casks to give us a differentiated offering, albeit in limited quantities.
“In the meantime we will be distilling again, focussing on quality not quantity, and with the spirit being stored in the best casks we will secure the long-term future of fine malt whiskies from Tullibardine.”
