Dewar Rattray has launched its new cask collection, which consists of a Macallan 14 year old, Highland Park 15 year old, Bruichladdich 12 year old, Longmorn 14 year old, Auchentoshan 13 year old and Dufftown 29 year old. Because of the nature behind the single casks, they are only available in extremely limited quantities, often no more than a couple of hundred bottles for each cask.

To commemorate the launch of the world’s largest cruise liner, William Grant has bottled one single Glenfiddich cask exclusively for passengers of Cunard’s Queen Mary 2.
The Glenfiddich distillery has a strictly limited number of casks aged between 21 and 29 years for private vintages, from which the customer personally selects which cask he or she would like bottled. For those without the funds or the sea legs to go on a cruise, Glendfiddich has also released a rare bottling of 1972 Vintage Reserve. Duncan Taylor’s new release, Auld Reekie, is a 12 year old bottling of distinctive Islay malt. It is so called, because each cask is specially selected for the pungent smoky character unique to the island. It is sure to be of great interest to those whisky drinkers with a fondness for heavier style whiskies, and has proved popular so far; when it was launched at the Royal Highland Show, it sold out after day one of the four-day event.

In celebration of his 30 years as The Balvenie malt master, David Stewart has created a rare and especially fine 30 year old single malt. Selecting some of the finest vintage casks laid down during David’s early years at The Balvenie, the expression is then married
in traditional oak Bourbon casks with spirit matured in oloroso
David became malt master in 1974, following a lengthy apprenticeship. He has presided over the slow and careful maturation of the casks – and has spent his career nurturing and watching over the best of them.
