A local non-profit organization based out of Lynchburg, TN recently because aware of a local teen, Jessica Lowery, who was in desperate need of a new wheelchair ramp.
Jessica has Cerebral Palsy coupled with Scoliosis and is wheelchair bound. She solely relies on the care from her mother, Pam Lowery, for her activities of daily living, and traveling to numerous weekly doctor appointments in Nashville.
"Our organization has come together to build her a wheelchair ramp that will greatly benefit her," said Jason Pogar, member of the non-profit 501(c)3 organization. "Jessica's grandfather, who is handicapped, will also benefit from this ramp as he lives on the same property."
"We have teamed up with the Home Depot foundation in Winchester, TN who will provide building materials and volunteers. We have also made contact with two local restaurants in Lynchburg, TN the Iron Kettle and Barrel House BBQ who have agreed to donate food and drinks to volunteers. The Jack Daniel's Distillery will be providing drinks (non-alcoholic) and hats for all the volunteers," Pogar concluded.
The project start date is Friday, Sept. 7 and volunteers can contact Jason Pogar at firstname.lastname@example.org
