The Glenlivet has announced the arrival of The Glenlivet Cellar Collection 1964, the latest in an annual series that has become among the distillery’s most sought after whisky.
One limited edition malt has been released from the cellars of Glenlivet every year since 1999.
Aged in the finest sherry and oak casks, the 1964 release is bottled at natural strength and has a rich, spicy flavour laced with notes of sweet plums and heather.
Just 1,824 bottles are available, each one is individually numbered and signed by distillery manager Jim Cryle.
The £750 price tag suggests that the whisky would normally appeal to only the most ardent collector, but as Jim says: “The Glenlivet is known for creating perfectly aged single malts. This exquisite 1964 Cellar Collection release demonstrates our commitment to consistently reserving the most precious whiskies.”
