After months of work restoring the original farm buildings, the stills, mash tun and other vessels have now been installed at Kilchoman, Islay’s newest distillery.
The remaining steel framed buildings to house the maltings, tun room, mill and kiln will follow and everything was due to be in place for a start up in April.
An official opening of the distillery will take place on June 3rd 2005, during the Islay Whisky Festival.
