This year’s pillaged malts cruise – a madcap scheme to row through heavy currents and rough sea around Islay collecting whisky for charity – is to include a visit to Bushmill’s in Northern Ireland.
And the organisers are offering two places on the trip to the highest bidders for what will certainly prove be the experience of a lifetime.
This year’s event, which takes place between June 29th and July 1st, will include rowing round all Islay distilleries and on to Jura before camping at Bruichladdich. The next day the crew will row under sail to Ireland and spend a night there before returning.
Whisky Magazine readers successfully bidding for places will have to make their own way to Islay but will receive food and accommodation, the chance to taste all the original malts and the vatted product, and will be given a bottle of the Celtic Pillaged malt when completed.
Bids greater than £200 and should be made to email@example.com by no later than June 10th.
