New yearbook is a winner

An excellent new directory of Scotch malt whisky has just been published.

The Malt Whisky Yearbook 2006 is a new kind of whisky book. Comprising almost 300 pages the comprehensive book recounts the latest news from the world of malt whiskies and includes many lesser-known facts about distilleries around the world.

Beware if ordering from the publishers. The P&P is quite steep. It takes the delivered price to £18+

The P&P might be quite expensive, because it is send from Sweden and the post in this country is pretty expensive.
The layout is quite pleasant, as well as the directory. However, to my suprise, some distilleries are not present. The photographs are nice and the articles from Jackson and McLean rather short with quite some advertisments.

If you just want a directory, then go to the book of Misako Udo.

Absolutely agree that the depth of information is not why you'd buy this book, but having had a good browse through it in the Whisky Exchange at Vinopolis I was impressed enough to buy it for the articles making up the first 78 pages and the appendices.

A decent read for the cover price money but probably wouldn't pay £18 to get it delivered...
