Stillmen make their choice

Glengoyne distillery has unveiled The Stillmen’s Choice: three whiskies each a personal favourite of the three Glengoyne stillmen.

Duncan McNicoll picked his favourite cask from 1989: Ewan Hendry opted for Cask 441, a 19-year-old former sherry cask, and Ronnie Palmer chose a 22-year-old from a bourbon barrel.

Their selections also impressed the judges at the annual Malt Maniac Awards walking away with two Gold awards, a silver, the Highlands Award of Excellence and Top Bourbon Cask.

Stuart Hendry, brand heritage manager said: “The bottlings were intended to be exclusive to the Glengoyne Disitllery shop but after success at the awards, we felt it unfair to keep them all
to ourselves!”
