Whisky Live London 2007 - Who's going?

With just a couple of months to go, I was wondering just who from the Forums is thinking of going. With the new voucher system I need a little encouragement to get me there . . .

bearing in mind all I have written on the subject I still intend to go. Mainly because my first was in 2004 and this will only be my third event. I am hoping that the master classes will make up for the whole debacle. i still have lots to learn.

I know what you mean, I'm not happy with the way the event is going, but I'm still being drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Let's hope I don't get my fingers burnt!

Just discovered another benefit of being a Guardian of the Glenlivet; a chance at winning two free tickets to Whisky Live London. The draw is tomorrow, I won't hold my breath 'though. It would be a treat to be able to go, wouldn't it? Would just have to get there from here.

Looks like I'll be going on the Friday (having already booked to attend the Saturday with friends). Anyone got any tips for tackling 2 days back to back of WL? Starting the Friday afternoon / evening session with a Glenlevit tasting is going to be tough :lol:

I know I'm hoping to use the day largely as a continued learning experience. Apart from a good few tastings, as with the last few years looking forward to talking with the guys and indeed the girls in the know. Also be good as others have said elsewhere to put a few names to faces.

Don't have anyone in particular that I'm hoping to meet, as with last year just hoping to be able to get round the hall and meet everyone. Last years most memeorable meets were with the guys at Bunnahabhain and a good old chat with the guys at Royal Mile just to mention a couple.

Last year I felt that there where a few stands run more from a PR persepctive than a knowledge and passion perspective. At the end of the day I know PR is what these guys are here to do but just hoping this year the stands are more passion powered.

Taste wise I'm just looking to be surprised. Have been fortuante enough to of tried most things that will be here this year so am more angling at specialist cask bottlings etc.

Not really looking to avoid anything. Apart from making sure I get to the Royal Mile stand earlier this year as last year missed out on a couple of bottles I wanted. Let's also say will not be using a voucher on the
Penderyn stand. Have tried sampled this a few times but it still doesn't do anything for me.
