What's the measure used for a 'tasting'

What's the cost for extra 'vouchers'

Cheers.

Hi Fergie, I think it is 25ml, but it could be 15ml - I will chat with Rob to find out exactly. Further vouchers are £1 from the Whisky Magazine stand.

These dates are obviously inclusive Les. We're having a great time up here just now - you really should try and visit.

If you're going to do a Whisky Live properly you really do need 8 months!

Masterclass Tickets should be available to purchase from tomorrow!!!!!! Would be good to get a celebrity chef invovled since some of them will be around the food show, a little bit of food and whisky matching perhaps being seen by a wider and different audience.

Slainte!!

Any idea what time the Masterclass details will go live (will it be today?)

Also, according to the Springbank forum, Ranald and Frank McHardy will be at the event but not in the whisky live hall

They'll will be in Hall 4, at the BBC Good Food Show, sharing a stand with Cadenheads, Ifferdale Lamb, Inverloch Cheese and The old Smokehouse (Macmillan Foods).

Hope you've all bought tickets for both events........

I keep checking so often to see whether the details of the master classes are up that people will think I have a Tourette's tic.

Glad to hear it's not just me Nick! All this checking is making it really hard to get any work done at all. On sale BY 5pm :?:

To make it worse, I'm in charge of choosing the MC's for not only myself but for two friends who are out of the country themselves. Bit of a dilema, do I book from the MC's released today, or wait in the hope that something better might be confirmed later today? Still, it's all whisky in the end.......

I have to say that if I were attending (which I am unable to do this year), I would only be interested in the Dave Broom and An Cnoc MCs.

Found the edit button then Les :D

Monkey, we will all be at the City Inn but I wouldn't call it cheap (around £120 a night). Will chase it up on Monday and see what else is close by for you.

The masterclass offering looks pretty poor compared to previous events. Is that it? Some participants haven't even stated what they are doing!
Sorry guys and gals, but this is really not inspiring confidence. Are there going to be any other exhibitors other than those listed? I hope so. 13 distilleries and 2 bottlers does not a festival make!

I know what you mean Crieftan, there seems to be some problem getting the info out of people, can't really expect people to book a masterclass until they know what is going on it. Sure there are more exhibitors booked up.

In my usual tactful style I will push for some more info on Monday. :headbang:

Thanks Matt.
Whilst of course I have no idea of how ticket sales are going, given the venue this year and what will be a lack of passing interest, customers really need to be attracted with a promise of more than the usual.
Surely it's up to the marketing branches of the trade to make this work.................. or do they have bigger fish to fry outwith Scotland?

I've been a bit worried about this ever since WL Glasgow was sandwiched between the two events in South Africa. I mean if you were a marketing guy where would you choose to spend your promotion budget, the mature (and if you believe the figures) contracting UK market or the new vibrant expanding S.A market?
There are still 32 days to go and hopefully the list of exhibitors will increase soon.

By the way, I've already bought my tickets to both days as well as a masterclass on each day. See you there!

Talked my brother into taking a day off work and now we're all booked for the Friday :)

Monkey, if you haven't booked accommodation yet, City Inn has come down from £129 a room /£149 inc. breakfasts to £89 / £109 (and it's £5 cheaper if you book online and waive your right to cancel) but they said prices will be going up again nearer to 2nd Nov.
