Springbank Marsala 9Yr

Postby bcrossan » Fri Feb 27, 2009 7:16 pm

My local store seems to be dumping their stock of this and I am trying to figure out if this is something I should be grabbing while I can. I am not finding this for sale on any of the major retailer sites (RM, TWE, KL Wines, Betramos, Binnys). Is this hard to find at this point? What is the typical price point for this Springbank for those who have found it in stores?

Thanks

I found it online at two places, San Francisco Wine Trading Company and 20-20 Wine Merchants in LA. The price point in both places was $100.
Don't know anything about this but found them, hope this helps.

Binny's has it for $70 now. Is your store even cheaper than that?

Good luck!

It doens't sound like a great bottle, there are some tasting notes on this site if you haven't seen them already:

scores around 8+ are pretty good in WM terms I think

This is true, I just saw Broom's 7 and 3/4 score and thought it can't be anything special.

Yes they are not bad scores and imo its a pretty decent dram. It is sweet though. Nevertheless, if you like Springbank I doubt this would disappoint you.

My store had it at $75, marked down from $100. I grabbed a bottle based on some of the high remarks it gone in on here. It's not bad. This one benefits from a little water to open it up
