Glengoyne 17 yr vs. 15 yr Scottish Oak

After much research I have decided that for my birthday I will purchase something completely different..Glengoyne. Specs has the 10, 17, and 15 Scottish Oak and I have decided it will be the 17 or the Scottish Oak 15 (43% ABV). Has anyone had both the 17 and the 15 Scottish Oak? Which do you prefer?

I would go for the Scottish oak 15 .

I second JL's suggestion. My recollection is that the SO is more woody (fresh oak).

The Glengoyne is smoother and more on sherry, while the Scottish Oak is more woody (fresh oak). Two different types of Glengoyne, so it depends on your preferences and your budget.
Anyway, both are quite pleasant.

Thanks for the replies, folks. In my case, they are both the same price at around $63 so they are well within budget (enough left over to get a Balvenie Trio Sampler Pack). Since I love what the extra wood treatment does for Laphroiag QC I will go ahead and get the Scottish Oak.
