Well I was wrong about a few things..the website is incorrect as it is actually about $50. I had surmised since it was a 1998 Signatory Glen Ord that it was one of the couple listed on the web that are cask strength. This one however is bottled at 43%. It is bottle #2 of 382 bottles from Cask # 3441 and is Hogshead matured. It is shown as Highland Signatory Vintage.
My gosh, this stuff is certainly worth the $50. Hard to believe it is only 8 yo. Very, very happy with my first IB purchase!
Nose: A little smoky, creamy, with pears and apple.
Mouth: Slightly oily, creamy, a bit coating, hints of vanilla and apple. Not peaty, but some sort of smoky quality..hard to define.
Finish: Smooth, more fruit, a bit spicy
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to explore some of the Indies.
