The 20 is 59.5% abv and has gotten many rave reviews on this forum. We also held an online tasting of various A'bunadh batches a while back. A search will give you all the info you want.

Good luck.

Much missed. I have a 15 which is fine, but...

Does anyone have an opinion on Batch 25?

?

I have and I thought it was ok - even good - which is surprising given that I haven't really enjoyed any A'bunadhs before. I wrote this some time ago:

Mr Fjeld wrote:I've had a bottle of batch 17 and batch 25, and I have tried batch 12 as well. Batch 25 was far superior to both 12 and 17 - both of which seemed to be trying to hard being sherry monsters. I'm not a fan of this style of whisky though but batch 25 was alright - although Macallan CS is clearly a better whisky in my opinion.

If you can get a bottle of batch 20 then go for it. It is the best batch in recent years IMO.

Batch 25 is nice too though Tim. You won't be disappointed.

No edit button.

I meant to say that I understand the 'but' that you applied to batch 15. It is quite sulphury. Batch 25 is not.

I actually thought batch 15 was the best I've tried but 20 was almost as good. WF Serge actually liked 20 better http://www.whiskyfun.com/archivenovembe ... tml#071107
I think SM made a mistake with the Alc % because batch 20 was 60.5%

Yes, 15 is pleasant! "Sulphury" in th way Daluaine 16 is...not bad, just an "interesting roughness" round the edges...

20 was a rounder, smoother ride as i recall, and a bigger finish.

Thanks for the feedback on the 25 Willie.

one of the better CS sherry bombs i tried was a "Macphunn" courtesy of C57.
ever come across it? Marvellous! Subtler than the Abunadhs and 105s and Mac CS...

I've got a 16 and a 20 (which is unopened).

I had a 15 a couple of years back and it was tremendous, a much more well-rounded dram than the 16 in my humble opinion.

Think I should open the 20 pretty soon...
