Bruichladdich 1970 (2002)

Postby bcrossan » Sun Aug 02, 2009 1:06 am

I am trying to get some current pricing on the Bruichladdich 1970 (2002). I have only found one site that has any in stock (found through wine-searcher.com). Anyone know of any sites or a way to find some others. My searches are falling short.

Thanks

As for pricing, this one sold in December of last year on whiskyauction for 255 Euros.

Another one sold in February '09' on whiskyauction for 336 Euros.

In June '09' on whiskyauction, one without the tin or inserts sold for 277 Euros.

As for stock or availability, I haven't seen any today.

Hope this helps...oh...and I can look up things other than Ardbeg...can you believe it.

:P

I am thinking hard about doing it. But I want to work a deal with them. They have it priced way too high

Bryan....scroll back up and look at the picture of the 1970. Stare at it for a bit...doesn't it start to look more attractive as the seconds roll by?

Best Laddie I've tried. One hopes that Jim and company can start getting some product out that starts approaching this quality.

Last year i knew the 1970 was changing hands for £200 privately, i believe the release price was £99-£115.

The only people i know that have it are here

http://www.thewhiskybarrel.com/cat-4-su ... roduct-185

But...

What do people think of the new Bruichladdich Black Art, obviously not to taste as its not out just yet but it looks and sounds pretty cool. It is to be the next Blacker Still which i persoally didn't like.

I haven't enjoyed too much the blacker still, so...
By the way, the new PC8 60.5% is already announced: £65 at RMW

I know it's an Italian shop but this one is OK.

As far as I could tell from the description, these are all the 125th Anniversary bottling which are a different animal from the Laddie 1970. Reviews I've received from those having had both give the nod the the 1970 over the 125th.

According to whiskyfun the 1970 vintage scored 95 points while the 125th anniversary scored 91 points. Unfortunately there are no recent tasting notes of the 1970 vintage.

The Exchange gets bottles from many sources... As such, price is jacked up... but if someone has the cash... it is there.

Cheers,
