Hello guys,
I am new in the forum and new in Single Malts (actually I had my 1st real tasting some days ago). I had tried a couple of them at a friend's place but without paying much attention. Some days ago I bought a couple of 5cl Bowmore 12 yo just for the fun to try and see if I could feel the same things as written in some sites/magazines.
Immediately it tastes quite peated and smokey but if you let it breath you can smell some subtle aromas (I think butter and chocolate but I may be wrong as I am very inexpert)
My question is: the 5cl bottle I bought seems to be different than the standard bottle I can find in the shops....Was it an older version? Will the new bottle taste the same as the 5cl I tasted?
Just to make you understand what I mean
The 5cl bottle is this http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-9655.aspx
and the full bottle is this http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-5747.aspx
Are they the same whisky? Can there be differences in the taste?
Thanks!!
Dennis
