Ardbeg Very young

Just wondering what the value of this is, the other 3 are only around the £50 mark but cause the Very young was only bottled 2880 times im assuming that increases its value alot.

Alas i never really got the opportunity to try the Very Young, although i thought the Almost There was rather good.

I think when last seen on TWE it was £250, but I suspect that Nick's guess is probably more appropriate for auctions which is pretty much the only place to find it these days.

According to my sources, there were 4002 of the Very Young for Discussion released. I would be interested to know where you got the 2880 number as it could help me. This one has been selling at auction between 205-250 Euros this year, but is much more if you find it at a whisky shop.

The Very Young was released in a much higher number, and has been selling at auction between 120-185 Euro. You can expect to pay more from specialty whisky retailers, if they have it.

Unless you find the VYFD at auction, you can expect to pay close to the price that Collector57 mentions. Check Kruger's if you want to pick one up.

Then it's almost certain that they are wrong.

The general release has been around for quite a while during 2005/2006 and even in 2007 bottles were still on some shelves.

That's true pavv, but that was before the Ardbeg frenzy really took hold and bottlings lasted a lot longer then. I trust Lohssanami's numbers though. The Whiskybase data has a number of flaws that need working out.

Hehe...as you know, I'm partial to Ardbeg's, but it is as it says on the 'tin'. Very Young! I tend not to pour my open VY just to drink by itself, instead preferring to taste the whole series together. Comparing it to the SY, AT and Ren makes it more fun.

Very Young is just that...very young. As Lohss points out, it is something to drink in the series. Now the Almost There and the Renaissance are most enjoyable. It wouldn't surprise me if down the road these two become very difficult to find, even at auction, as people enjoying dramming them.

too me the SY isn't much better, got one here that i have a go at now and again, but i shouldn't have to have a go at any whisky.
