Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch No. 27 ABV 60.1%
Nose: Lots of Sherry sweetness but picking up slight wood and herbal notes (from Sherry?), Rum Sultanas, Chocolate, Stewed Marmalade.
Palate: Nice texture to the mouth. Leather, Amerena Cherries.
Finish: Chocolate, A married blend of Ginger, Coriander (The seeds, not the fresh version we call cilantro here in the states) and Allspice (in that order), Malt and Biscuits.
Comments: First A'bundah bottling I've tried so I have no other batch to compare. Very enjoyable roller coaster from the moment it hits your mouth to the long finish. One thing I noticed after trying this whisky was that I didn't have to really decipher what my tongue/brain was sensing as everything was very apparent. Now I need to keep an eye out for the other batches.
