As promised, DT, here's my report. I have to admit I arrived 1 hour later than I anticipated due to bad weather. I got there at around 15.00. From the moment I walked through the door of the hotel I was welcomed with a dram of Bowmore 1995 Malts of Scotland PX. A very nice Bowmore I must say although it's a young expression. I've had a Laphroaig 1996 MoS for The Bonding Dram earlier this year which wasn't as good as this one. Because I arrived that late in the afternoon I didn't get the chance to try some of the famous Samaroli bottlings (Bowmore Bouquet, Springbank and others) that Diego Sandrin (Good Whisky House) and Max Righi (Whisky Antique) brought with them. They were already packing up, and they were sold out as well. Damn, but not to worry. I finally got the opportunity to meet Diego at last, after sooo many e-mails. I also got to meet Geert aka peatjunkie, which was a real pleasure, and Jeroen (The Bonding Dram whisky shop in Gent). It wasn't so busy that late in the afternoon so I had plenty of time to look around. Actually it took me about 15 minutes before I could make up my mind about which whisky I should try first. The variety of bottles was simply stunning! Nice work, Geert! Here's a list with the different whiskie's I tried at the festival.

First was a Brora 30yo 2004 56.6 %. Only one word came to my mind: WOOW !!! This one was already somewhere on my shortlist but now it's certainly in my top 3!

Second was a Springbank 21yo OB 46 %. Very smooth, rich, and very very good. But I still liked the Brora better.

Third: Ardbeg 25yo John Milroy Selection 58 % 1975 - 2001. Geert told me this was a very good one. I thought it was good, but the previous ones were far better.

Fourth: Strathisla 1976-2004 Samaroli 45 %. My first Strathisla ever and OMG it's a real stunner! Absolutely loved it.

Fifth and last was an Ardbeg 1978-1997 OB. Again WOOOW !!! I usually save the best for last, but this Ardbeg is simply beautifull! Smooth, rich, slightly peated and smokey, yet in perfect balance. This one is also high on my shortlist now, even though the prices are rocketing.
