Houston liquor stores

I'll be living in the Houston area for at least the next few months. I know all about Spec's from my time in Austin, but I'm wondering if there are other liquor stores in Houston I should be aware of. Are there any other stores that have an interesting selection or competitive prices on whisky? Thanks.

Also, are any other Houston members attending the Laphroaig tasting at Spec's Smith Street on 9/8? I'm really looking forward to it.

Thanks guys. Yeah Ganga, I knew JL is in the Houston area, but I wondered if Talisker10 would chime in too...though I haven't seen him here lately. And I've met Bryan several times, but he's in the Austin area.

The Laphroaig tasting was awesome, Simon Brooking is such a great presenter. The Laph 25 was sublime, I'm looking forward to opening my Laph 18 having now tasted it, and I picked up a bottle of Ardmore TC that Simon signed.

I don't know why I haven't been around..a lot of time on a competing mags board I guess. Spec's just can't be beat. The main Downtown Spec's will blow you away with their selection. The Austin or any other Spec's don't even come close. Also you have to try the burgers and other great food at the Downtown's Deli!
