Midleton Very Rare 2009

I'm a big Irish Whiskey fan, and when I say I'm a big fan of Whiskey - I love DRINKING it, I'm not a collector.

I just received a bottle of Midleton Very Rare (2009) as a gift from my boss - and my question is this - what do I do with it?? I'd love your suggestions!

Do I just open the thing and drink it?
Do I save it and see if the value appreciates, and sell it in 20 years?
Do I save it for some special occasion in the future, ad drink it then?

I'm new to all this, so I'm not sure if whiskey appreciates over time in terms of value, taste etc? (And I'm not sure if I have the strength to keep this thing unopened and not see what it tastes like!)

IDL produce over 40,000+ bottles every year now,

The early vintages from 1985 are collectable, however the current bottlings are easy to come by, that said the 2009 had a shortened release period so is slightly more collectable but still to be had a cost price.
