Bunnahabhain 12yr old 46.3%

Was going to go buy a bottle of Bunnahabhain 12 40% today as ive not had a bottle for a while and i do like it. While i was ringing around to locate a bottle i got told about the new 12yr 46.3%.

Now the new one is a bit of a drive away, and i also know i like the 40% old one. Anyone tried the new one? Would you drive further for this bottle over the old one?

Gordon (Spirit of Islay) has recommended going with the 46.3%. I've yet to see a bottle in the US and am really looking forward to it. Try looking up his tasting notes over at his site to see if you find it intriguing. Tasting notes are sorted by each Islay distillery. Just look up Bunny.

While i was at the shop i tried 2 of the Amrut's. I see you have a section on your web site Spirit, wonderful stuff isnt it! i was happily surprised, i will buy a bottle next time i go.

I continue to patiently await local availability of these two releases, all the while bemoaning the numerous bottles of the older 12YO 40%ABV version that linger on the shelves.
