Cragganmore 12 year old

Last night I tasted Cragganmore 12 year old and took some notes. I'll be tasting and noting the Classic 6 malts in the near future. I'd like to get others feedback too...

Speyside region
Color: yellowish gold
Nose: butterscotch, bannana, honey, rich cream, malty
Body: thick, sharp, hot
Palate: smooth, ice cream? peppery, not too chewy or coating
Finish: full, perfectly balanced, very gentle
Comments: Outstanding! The nose was a tiny bit thin which led me to believe that the body would come up short. This wasn't true at all. The finish was superb!

Cragganmore is great isn't it.

I found it took me 2 or 3 tastes of it and then I was hooked.

It's the most moreish of the Classic Six.

Cragganmore certainly exudes elegance, style, and even haughtiness! It's like an expensive Belgian chocolate that comes wrapped in a plain Mars Bar wrapper.

I enjoy the complexity it offers - all the soft, floral notes of a beautiful Speysider, but also with sweetness, and even a hint of smoke. It's firm & juicy & challenges us to discover its secrets.

Although as a Lagavulin lover, Bruce, I know what I'd rather drink more of!

Iwent to a tasting last week at a local liquor store and Cragganmore was in the line up of ten whiskies. I'd not tasted it in a long time and was very surprised at how good it was, I bought a bottle on the spot!

What a disappointment that would be. I much prefer Mars Bars

Lagavulin is an excellent whisky which I find makes a great aperitif when you're about to have lunch.

Sounds like and excellent way to deaden the taste buds-smoky peaty malt I wonder what you have for lunch? Come to think of it, whisky before lunch ...

Nevertheless, to each his own I suppose.

No, that's just as an appetiser before my starter arrives.

Lagavulin is sufficiently light to make a suitable dram for eating with lunch.
