is the 12yr lagavulin available in the united states yet? i've been looking in all the shops and have been unable to find it. thanks!

Try http://www.specsonline.com/ They are in Houston and appear to have it for about $170. It's definitely worth the investment :lol:

i had looked at spec's, guess i just missed it :roll:

i didn't realize it would have such a large price tag. oh well. . . .i'll stick with the 16yr. thanks!

I really like the 12yo (the first release anyways, the only one Ontario has seen so far), much better than the 16yo to my tastes, much peatier, smokier, brasher, has some of the notes of a young Caol Ila too. Only $99 CND here too so a real deal compared to that posted above. None left though and still hoping for later releases to show up... In the meantime at least we have a decent supply of 16yo around.

the us price is f***ed, IHMO. pure price gouging by those thieves at Schieffelin & Somerset -- the price of this whisky (delicious btw) is in europe about 60% of the cost. i purchased in april a bottle in paris for EUR80. i recommend my US friends order this whisky from outside the USA and have it delivered, which is perfectly legal, btw.

I found another inexpensive source of Lagavulin 12 that ships to the USA. $69.80US + shipping

Only 6 bottles remaining as of this post however keep an eye out for more. I'm sure we'll turn up other sources for under $100.00 :wink:
