The Famous Grouse, Scotland’s favourite whisky, has teamed up with Glasgow-based textile designer Gillian Kyle to give the well loved brand an inky makeover.
The Famous Grouse is the latest in a line of iconic products to be introduced into Gillian’s gift and home accessory range, which has become renowned for featuring some of the best loved Scottish food and drink brands.
The new hand-drawn illustration shows the progression of The Famous Grouse bottle designs over the years, from the 1950s to the present day. A range of gifts including tea towels (£7.99), notebooks (£4.99), aprons (£14.99) and bags (£9.99) will bear the design.
Gillian Kyle commented: “I’m passionate about celebrating Scottish culture and nostalgia. I love working with brands that are regarded both in Scotland and worldwide with enormous affection and my collaboration with The Famous Grouse continues this tradition.”
Gillian has come far since the launch of her debut collection in 2009 with many celebrated Scottish brands such as Tunnock’s Teacakes and Barr’s Irn Bru having starring roles in her work. Over the past three years the company has grown considerably, and Gillian has gone from simply supplying small gift shops to working with world-famous department store Harrods, redesigning the Westie which appears on their signature collection.
