In this age of alternative finishing in every thing from Italian Marsala to Caribbean rum, I was trying compile a list of distilleries that only age their whisky in bourbon barrels (or similar American whiskey like Jack Daniels, etc.)
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the following would be on the list.
Glenmorangie 10
Balvenie 10,
Balvenie 15 Single Barrel
Talisker 10
Ardbeg 10
Can anyone else add to the list?
I was wondering about the 12yo Springbank, as the 15 and 18 seem heavily sherried, they make the 12 seem like there is no sherry at all.
Conversely, what single malts are aged only in sherry barrels?
Highland Park
Macallan 12 and the others in the main line
Glenfarclas 12 and the others in the main line
Glengoyne 21
Glendronach 12 and the others in their main line
Can anyone confirm these two lists, or add to them? Thanks.
