Does anyone know if the new Talisker 18 is making the jump across the pond?

Well, I can tell you it's here in Ontario. The LCBO had announced it in November sometime during a tasting I was part of.

Make sure you check up on their web site that they have the 18yr old. They should though!

I have 1 bottle of the 18yr old in my collection, i really should buy another to taste since the 10yr and the DE were absolutely wonderful.
Lets hope its promise is kept, gotta love the big T :lol:

Got (and opened ) a bottle of the T18yo for Christmas off my beloved , what a wonderful dram ! Lovely long , dry , peppery , smoky finish . The Older O.B. Tali bottlings have been pretty amazin' compared to the older Lagavulin which was a total disappointment .
Just remember whisky is for drinking and not for Life !!!!

Talisker 18 is possibly the dram i'm most eager to try in the first couple of months. The only problem is the very very high pricetagg. I'll be tasting this before buying because its really expencive and since the 10 is changed, im a bit scared. Its out here right now, but the club hasnt opened a bottle yet, so i wait patiently.
Has anyone tasted it and compared to the talisker 10? If so, is in the like of the new or older bottlings?

How much is it in your neck of the woods ?
It's under £40 here , which is a bargain seeing the T20 shoots up to nearly £90 ! Who comes up with the pricing structure ?

Talisker 18 is suppossed to arrive here before Christmas however it has still not arrived. I suspect if it had arrived yet in Ontario harry or Frodo would have commented on it.

It was at the October Toronto whisky show. Frodo tried it but I forgot (so many whiskies, so little time). It is supposed to be here soon too but not yet.

Not sure. The 10yo is $65, the 20yo CS is $200 so somewhere in between I guess...

Hard to say as the Caol Ila 18yo was $100 here, while 12yo is $75. So it could be $100 (the prices of Caol Ila 18yo and Talisker 18yo are the same at Royal Mile Whiskies, £36.99 Inc. VAT). Laga 16yo is $90. If its around $100 then I'll likely try a bottle.

One specialist importer here has brought in the 18 yo Talisker to Australia and is retailing it for AUS$134, which is around US$100 or 50 GBP.

This is probably good value, since most stores now retail 18yo Macallan for more than this.

As yet, I haven't been tempted. :wink:
