Is there any 25y.o. Dalwhinnie

Postby Roland E » Tue Jan 04, 2005 2:39 pm

Hi!
For a good friend of mine I am searching for a 25 year old Dalwhinnie. He swears that it was the best whiskey he has ever drunk.
Unfortunatelly I can't find any - nowhere!

Until now I read a lot. Anytime it is written about the 15y.o..

Does the 25y.o. exist anyway?

Thanks for your help!

Here in Torino I have recently seen a 29yo OB, but the price is outrageous (234 Euro)... no 25, sorry.

Thanks a lot!
I'm from Frankfurt/Main.

In the meanwhile I am afraid the 25y.o. does not exist.
At least the Import-company does know nothing about it.

How can I get in touch with the distillery-shop, Lawrence?
Maybe it's that rare, that only a few people know it.

Thanks again!

Try Jack Wiebers in Berlin, he does some special bottlings.

Your topic made me look inside my Whisky cabinet....and behold...I found a Dalwhinnie distilled in 1970, at 40%, and bottled in 1991 (21 years) by Gordon and Macphail (connoisseurs choice).
I am having one now....very nice, powerfull for a 40%. The nose is like old honey and mustyness. Velvet on my tongue.

Dalwhinnie Bottlings

I have never seen a "25" Year Old as such,a "27" yes, regularly. The "25" may be an independent bottling. At any age beyond the "8" it used to be bottled at,it remains a slendid dram!
