" world of whisky"

I have found that the "world of whisky" at both Heathrow airport and Stansted Airport are actually quite expensive. I think that most people believe that they are getting good duty free prices. But that is not the case I fear.
The shops have a great selection and are well laid out.
They do not produce a price list which I think shows their unwillingness for customers to compare prices.
Has anyone found the same problem ?

hi jim i have to agree with you they also vary in knowledge but they are getting better you will find if you go to say edinburgh airport the whisky shop chain some of there staff are not really interested so there are worse places than heathrow never been to stanstead but they are better than they used to be

They're good on deals for things like Macallan CS. Apart from that I have found them to be fairly reasonable as compared to other specialist shops.

I would shop Heathrow's WOW only for these two reasons:

1. To find something unusual, not readily available elsewhere.

2. To fill out my allotment on the trip home.

Since I generally have far too many bottles already from Loch Fyne, G&M, and the Whisky Shop, #2 never applies. But it's fun to look. And I always try to shop on arrival, just in case there's something I feel I must make room for on departure.
