I can't confirm the precise number of bottles, but it was widely touted as a limited release, so 9000 bottles isn't unrealistic.

The 12 yo is available here but, not unexpectedly, it's on the pricey side - upwards of US$150. I've heard excellent reviews and I'm considering taking the plunge. For those who have tried it, what have been your impressions? Does it give a big peat and iodine kick? From what I've heard so far it would make a nice addition to my little collection.

Ron - Head North Young Man... There is plenty of Lagavulin 12 Cask Strength here in Vancouver - and at $75 Cdn (~$61 US) it could be worth your while...

There is no doubt that if your collection is "little" it will kick it up a notch.

Let us know if you have any plans to come to Vancouver - and I can let you know about some of the upcoming West Coast Whisky Society events...

Also, I will be in Seattle at the end of May - and curious to check out some of the bars and liquor store finds there... thanks for your previous comments.

Note that the one in Canada is the 3rd release, not the second, unless BC got the earlier bottling. It doesn't say 3rd release but the date and ABV gives it away.
