"Also what does it taste and smell like?" -- Well not an easy answer, partly as the old 10yo (@ 40%) was enough to put me off for a lifetime and I have only had a healthy sample of the new 10yo (@ 46.3%). All i can say is that there was a huge improvement. There are good bracing coastal flavours and the malt is evident (and unpeated) but there are some rather odd flavours on the palate too (sort of doughy, and sour fruit and overcooked veg.). Many don't mind at all, in fact this whisky does have a fanbase.
Also worth considering is that price tag, for the reduced to £22 you do get a natural colour (no added caramel colour - e150), non-chillfiltered, and good drinking ABV of 46.3%. I should grab a bottle myself and revisit while the offer is on.
I say buy one (and let us know how it is), just incase you love the stuff, then you can grab another.
