Macallan 25 - Correct Vintage?

Postby cederbro » Fri Jul 18, 2014 10:59 pm

Hi,
I own a Macallan 25yo Anniversary Malt in wooden box.
How can I find out what vintage the whisky is from? I can’t find any information on the bottle or on the box.
Is there a code somewhere on the bottle to identify the vintage?

Not all whiskies have vintages. A 25 year old bottling means that the whiskies used to make it are no less than 25 years old.

From the Malt Maniacs monitor, the only non vintage Macallan 25 year old anniversary was bottled circa the year 2000, which would make it extremely valuable to collectors (and probably also of very high quality since it was made long before Macallan encountered supply issues).

Lucky you!

The commonly found non-vintage anniversary malts were bottles from 2000 - 2004. value is around 800-1100 USD.
There may have also been a non vintage bottling around 1981- 1982 but that is very rare.
