Books on Whisky

Does anyone have a copy of Barnard's book "Whisky Distillieries of the UK" they would be willing to sell?

Hi George

In case you didn't know, a new reprint of Barnard has just been published. Available through www.amazon.de FAIK, or contact Jens Sagemann (jsagemann@UNI-BREMEN.DE) for more details.

Also, there are two on-going and linked 'Barnard on-line' projects: The Scottish distilleries on www.whiskymania.de and the Irish distilleries on www.celticmalts.com/journal.htm

Lex, Thanks a lot for this information and no I didn't know about any of this. This is why the forum is a great thing. Brings us "whisky" people together.

George/all

If you're looking for out-of-print books, try Bookfinder at http://www.bookfinder.com/

I found "The Whiskey Distillers of Scotland", from 1887 for $60 there.

On-line retailers like Amazon.com use Bookfinder to search for used books, but they usually add 60-70% to the Bookfinder price

Hi all,

I don't know the price of the reprint of Barnard's book elsewhere on the web, but I received my copy today from www.proxis.be at the incredible price of 325 Belgian franks, that is about 5 British pounds (no extra mail charges).

I have the centenary edition of Barnard's book, and it has around 450 pages..
Price when published was £20 .
I have not seen this book in any auction or shop and have no idea of its value..
Publisher was Mainstream publishing

Old Single Malt Whisky Bottles

Postby whiskycollector » Sun Jan 07, 2001 7:10 pm

Hi there, does anyone have any nice old whisky bottles or go-withs, such as an old advertising mirror or advert that they would like to know more information on or even like to sell?

Waiting to hear from you.

Just for now I do no wish to sell it, but I am looking for an estimation of its value.
I have not seen it in any auction in Christies or on bookfinder.com

I haver received the most recent reproduction of Barnards book and it is very nice. I is nicely bound and the printing is well done from my initial observation. Other letters in the FORUM will tell you how to get the book which is a must for whisky lovers and those with "Scottish" interests.
