Extremely Rare Whisky

Postby comerpatrick » Wed Jan 17, 2001 10:08 pm

My brother's new screenplay calls for an allusion to an extremely rare whisky that online "those in the know" or "those in the $" would ever be able to put there hands on. Anyone have a few examples that we could reference?

How about a "Springbank 1919"? I saw a bottle of this in Fortnum & Mason (London) a few years ago with a price tag of £8000. There is a bit more of a story connected to it as it was stolen later from its re-enforced glass case, but it turned out the bottle on display in the store contained only vinegar or something similar .... the bottles with real Springbank were well secure!

Cheers, Lex

I have a White and Mackay copper pot still decanter. Origonal packaging AND whisky in pristine condition. Still is embossed with 22k gold. Can you help re rarity and valuation of this item? I would be grateful for any info at all. Thanks.

Hi Bill,
This decanter was done about 10 - 12 years ago. It is a litre in size and is worth about £125
