I'm not as think as you drunk I am.

To answer the question, only rarely, and I'm usually sorry. Of course, my definition of "drunk" may not be the same as a police officer's.

Not anymore. I don't want my kids to see me like that! Tipsy once in a while, sure, and I have more at a tasting event than I would at home but falling down or praying to the porcelain god? Not anymore.

Cost is somewhat steep for me to get to Shickerraiyaville so usually take the off-ramp at Slightlyblasteroberg. :wink:

Of course i always enjoy my whisky with some Mother Nature, so that adds a whole other dimention. :arrow:

Sometimes, but usually from wine, seldom from whisky. I think the water content is higher in whisky!

The last time I was actually off my nut was at the Expo session of the 2003 Australian Malt Whisky Convention.

24 drams (many cask strength) within a single 2 hour session, and no spittoon! :roll:

Guilty as charged...but I know that I have to be responsible, since I walk a very thin line when it comes to the tolerance of my whisky drinking on the part of certain loved ones...

That means I try to keep my intake down to reasonable levels and remain well-behaved. Notice that I did say "try".

The problem with whisky heaves is that there's nothing there. You need to throw some beer down for volume.

From my limited experience with whisky heaves, I seem to have no trouble with volume, both in quantity and in sound level... :oops:

I have thrown up twice in the decade or so that I have been drinking. Strangely, on both occassions it has been after I woke up the following morning. :shock:

Never gotten drunk to the point of getting sick since I started Single Malts. Lots of beer in my 20's that never seemed to teach me a lesson. I didn't drink much at all in my 30's. Enjoying my 40's most thoroughly. :wink:

I must have learned something from the days of wine and beer consumption. worst I've encountered with good Scotch is a morning headache. I'd like to give Scotch the credit but I think actually I learned from the earlier mistakes.

I think most of us have learned with experience to drink better, and drink less. When I have a glass of something really good in my hand, whether it's beer, whisky, calvados, port, or whatever, I'm not often in a hurry to throw it down.

Once in a while I like to get plastered, but I normally prefer one to three drams, two being typical.

I find that I'm most likely to get snockered if I'm drinking a 40 percenter; stronger spirits encourage me to sip slowly. There's no way I could slug down a shot of Stagg or A'Bunadh. :shock:

Even if it's just strongly flavored without a very high ABV (think Ardbeg 10yo), the rule for me is to sip and enjoy.

I've actually never been drunk. A bit wobbly a couple times, yes, but never incoherent or even close to physically ill. A few times I've felt it the next day, but combining a few drinks with sleep deprivation will usually have that effect.

I have never been drunk, just a bit wobbly a few times.
The truth is I hate the feeling of a buzz. So once it starts I stop drinking and go for water.

I think I just don't like the feeling of being out of control mentally.

Again, I think a highway patrolman with a breathylizer will have a different definition of "drunk" from many of us. In fact, I wonder if we perhaps have different definitions among us.

Ahem.... Mrs C has a different view on things!

Just as well she didn't know me in my early 20s. A few meaty tales.
woke up in the Meadows (folk who know Edinburgh know where I am) at dawn, layered in dew and freezing my wotsits off. Hands in to pockets of jacket and low and behold, breakfast - two congealed kebabs. MM mh! I had been at a party - tequila!

At that point I started to grow up..............well, you know...sort of

Last time was in the Bowmore Hotel. Drinking with the locals, great bunch made to feel at home each time we have stayed on the island.

Any way far too much Ardbeg 10. Singles become doubles,became just poor a bit in became another bottle, became a very green, rough ferry journey back the next morning. In side the ferry in the warmth not good. Outside in the wind and rain much better.
