I inherited an old style bottle from my late father-in-law. Tried it last night - first time in ages. I agree with you. It had a really lushious "top of the milk" feel about it. I won't wait so long before quaffing it again!
PS if you want a whisky to try with ice cream, HP25 is fabulous. Fire and ice my friend. Fire and ice. A truly wonderful combination.
(has to be a good quality vanilla though)
