Back in June 2004 the BBC reported that

in Staveley/Cumbria at a former wood yard. The site of the future plant will be located at the banks of the river Kent, the fastest running river in England. The capacity will be at 25.000 litres p.a. - The barley is supposed to come from the region.

Andrew Currie is coming to the Victoria Whisky Festival to talk about his two new projects, the English distillery and the new project on the Isle of Barra. More details when I know them.
