Yes, it's a very good whisky indeed. If you compare it to the standard 10 year old it has more toffee in the taste, a little softer and perhaps a more complex taste.
You still get the powerful and peppery finish though.

How does it compare to the Talisker 18 or the 175th Anniversary Edition? I'm a big fan of the 10yr and the 20yr cask strength and am looking to maybe get one of these as well.

If you like Takisker, you'll like the DE (the 90/91/92 that is, earlier ones were apparently not as good). Personally, I prefer it to the 18.

I have this one (it was a media sample), and it's excellent! I agree with Anders on the slightly softer and more complex taste, but still has all of the classic Talisker notes...
