This year, I set myself themes of "old" and "unusual". I got to sample the following:-

Clan Denny 40yo - 1965 (Scottish Single Grain - Girvan) (Douglas Laing)
Balblair 38yo - 1966 (Scottish Single Malt - Balblair) (OB)
Benromach 37yo - 1968 (Scottish Single Malt - Benromach) (OB)
Brechin 33yo - 1970 (Scottish Single Malt - North Port) (Douglas Laing)
Craigduff 32yo - 1973 (Scottish Single Malt - Strathisla) (Signatory)
Bunnahabhain 31yo - 1974 (Scottish Single Malt - Bunnahabhain) (Berrys)
Isle of Jura 21yo (Scottish Single Malt - Jura) (OB)
Bunnahabhain XVIII - 18yo (Scottish Single Malt - Bunnahabhain) (OB)
Hakushu 12yo (Japanese Single Malt - Hakushu) (OB)
Ballechin - Young CS sample (Scottish Single Malt - Edradour) (OB)

Not a bad haul, given that I had to stay fairly sober to get home.

Met Michael Jackson, Sukinder Singh (Whisky Exchange) and Ian Gray (who painted the labels for the first release Hazelburn).

Also, saw Charlie Maclean, David Broom & Julian Van Winkle.

Not many "freebies" on offer, although did get a nice Glenlivet polo shirt and a tasting glass.

All in all, an excellent day and £30 well spent!
